Art Direction / Take Pride
Art is like skin.
Enveloping. On show for all to see. Stimulating senses.
And like skin it breathes.
In Plaza de la Signiora in Florence there is a copy of Michelangelo’s David. It was erected in 1910 and is an exact replica of its famous namesake. Same mass. Same height. Beautiful. But it does not breathe.
The shock is palpable when you enter Galleria dell’Accademia where the actual David stands. It breathes. The muscled contours of smooth, white stone appear to have the warmth of a living person. Even though its made from 5 metres of cold marble.
But it is not a matter of scale; it is a matter of soul. Of skin.
Michelangelo must have been proud of his work.
We want you to be proud of ours.
At Singularity everything we create must br e a t h e.
