WebDesign and accessibility for all

Design and accessibility for all

New values, new image, and accessibility for all (UI)

ACEDE is a cluster that gathers different members from the industry sector that develops solutions, systems and components. It is dedicated to implementing innovation and exploration in the home sector, a focal point for different cluster agents creating new solutions through shared knowledge and experiences.

The challenge was to develop an at-a-glance web page that represents the brand and its values.

We opened packed drawers, emptied then re-ordered them, and selected the values that most represent the brand.

The company had changed its vision, we wanted to reflect this. A fresh image and new web architecture were needed to represent this updated value proposition.

Then we went to work on the visual elements. As ACEDE is an innovation node promoting and implementing innovation from its earliest stages, we wanted to reflect it visually on the website and in the logo. Advocating for a simple and sober style, but that at the same time was striking with an element of movement. We designed an innovative typeface that broke away from the current form. A similar switch was applied to the logo, updating it, simplifying elements and adding colour.

We managed to transfer the new value proposition to ACEDE’s website visually. A new web design that started from a white background, suggests a ‘blank sheet’ taking shape until everything fits into the innovation processes. Because this is ACEDE, a place where the kernel of an idea begins. And its growth is encouraged through movement and creativity.

Accessibility for all audiences was at the heart of the design process for this page. On the one hand, the typography is clean and large with black on white highlights. A combination making reading easier for senior audiences or people with reduced visibility. This was a primary challenge, as a central goal was guaranteed accessibility without dilution of the typographic and creative impact of the web page.

And to finish off, we installed an accessibility plugin for people with reduced visibility, so those with impaired, visual abilities can also access the content.
